Emergency Light Inspection, Installation & Repair

Emergency and exit lighting is one of the first things a fire inspector checks — and one of the easiest things to overlook until it fails. We inspect existing emergency lighting for proper operation, install new fixtures where they’re missing or outdated, and repair units that are no longer holding a charge or lighting up during testing.

Testing requirements you’re responsible for

NFPA 101 requires a monthly functional test of at least 30 seconds to confirm units switch to emergency power correctly, plus a full annual test of at least 90 minutes to verify the battery backup actually holds a charge under real load — not just a quick flicker on and off.

What we inspect

Exit signs, battery backup units, and egress path lighting — checking that units illuminate properly, batteries hold their charge through a full test cycle, and coverage along exit paths meets code.

Installation and repair

We install new emergency lighting and exit signs where they’re missing, outdated, or don’t meet current code, and repair or replace units that fail testing — a dead battery, a burned-out lamp, or a unit that no longer switches over correctly.
